How can students Share Files in Moodle?

Answer

Students can share files through several Moodle activities. Here are several that are commonly used:

Moodle Forums
The instructor can create a Moodle Forum (Discussion) and students can add files as part of a post to the forum. Files can be added as an attachment to a post, but students may need to click the Advanced link at the bottom of the textbox in their post in order to see the option to attach a file. All course participants will be able to see these attachments, unless special restrictions or Groups have been set.

Moodle Glossary
The instructor can create a Moodle Glossary and students can create a Glossary entry and attach files to it. In the Glossary settings, the instructor can indicate that Glossary entries will not be visible until approved by the instructor. This can be used to prevent sharing of files until they have been reviewed by the instructor.

Student Folder
The Student Folder activity in Moodle allows an instructor to set up a folder into which students can upload one or more files. If the instructors gives consent, the students' files can be shared with other class participants. The Student Folder can be used for student collaboration, group work and peer review.
